Who is Charles Hopkins

I started doing machine work in 1963 as a summer job while in high school.

I took to making things from solid metal material like a dog takes to beef jerky.

In 1966 the United States Army gave me the opportunity to join their Apprenticeship Machinist Class.

Upon completing the four year program and earning an Associates Degree from Montgomery Junior College, I was well on my way to an exciting career.

Since those days, I have done many types of metal machining. Some has been in the Aerospace industry, some has been in the Medical field, and some has been in Automotive reconstruction. Much of this work spans more than a few industries.

Along the way, computers came into the metal working industry, and I had to follow suit. So in 1995 I decided to jump in to the Computer Numerical Controlled side of carrier.

It was then that Hopkins Machine Company blossomed into a "FULL SERVICE" shop.
